I was user experience designer for the qualitative research application, HARK Connect. The software enables seamless focus group online viewing and live streaming in addition to a wide array of features including multi-language simultaneous translation, fast access to transcripts and videos, and emotional measurement analysis.
My role was to develop the front end user interface and experience for both the live application and post-event analysis. This responsibility evolved into developing the brand outside of the software, creating custom trade show graphic, a style guide, and general marketing materials and social promotions for the initial launch.
NIWeek is an annual event hosted by National Instruments. Engineers from around the world gather in Austin to attend panels, product demos, and keynote speeches, all hosted at the Austin Convention Center. My roles included developing signage templates, creating sub-event identities, designing the presentation deck for an awards ceremony, and modifying keynote speaker astronaut Scott Kelly’s presentation deck to match the event’s style.
2019 was the 25th anniversary of NIWeek and the year’s theme was “Full Force Ahead”. Playing off “Force”, the head designer at National Instruments, Gerald Codina, created a lockup that was based on his love of star wars, vectors, and a color palette reflecting another component of the year’s theme, diversity. Once the design was approved, my first responsibility was to create an Adobe CC Library based on different versions of the lock up, and identities for the major sub events based off of the main design.
